Description of Significance THE MANHATTAN BUILDING IS AN EIGHT-STORY COMMERCIAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTED IN DOWNTOWN MUSKOGEE IN 1911. THE BUILDING HAS A REINFORCED CONCRETE FRAME CLAD IN GREY BRICK. MAJOR DECORATIVE ELEMENTS INCLUDE THE TWO-STORY COLOSSAL COLUMNS WHICH FLANK THE ENTRY. THE SECOND FLOOR CORNICE IS HIGHLIGHTED WITH DENTILS. THE ONLY SIGNIFICANT ALTERATION HAS BEEN THE ADDITION OF A PENTHOUSE TO THE ROOF IN 1957. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 8/11/1983.
